The Australian Open – Finally Living the Dream!

AUSTRALIA

The Australian Open is underway in Melbourne! It started on 14 January, and I went to Melbourne to see what it was like.

This is something I’ve wanted to do for years! Watching one of the four Grand Slam tournaments in person has always been on my bucket list, and I’ve finally made it happen. Brilliant!

Melbourne Park is fantastic. There’s so much going on, with plenty of shops, restaurants and, of course, tennis matches.

If you’re a tennis fan, you’ve got to come here at least once!

Living the Dream at Melbourne Park

I was literally living the dream.

I was so excited, like a child visiting Disneyland for the first time!

Being able to watch some of the world’s top-ranked players practising up close was one of the highlights for me. As a tennis fan, I couldn’t have asked for much more.

I only bought a Ground Pass, so I couldn’t get into the main arenas, which required separate tickets. But I could still watch matches from the spectator stands at some of the outside courts and see players practising.

If you’re planning a visit yourself, you can find the different ticket options on the official Australian Open website.

A Massive Tennis Festival

Walking around Melbourne Park, I felt as though I was at a massive festival.

Thousands of people were there, sitting on the grass, having something to eat or drink, and watching tennis on a big screen.

There were plenty of shops to look around, too. I’m not usually interested in buying souvenirs, but I ended up getting a towel for a friend who’s really into tennis.

I’d often seen the grassy viewing area on television, so I wanted to see what it was actually like.

I grabbed something to nibble on, headed over and lay down on the grass to watch the tennis.

It was such a brilliant moment, just being there at Melbourne Park and feeling part of the Australian Open.

I’d definitely love to come back again someday!
