I was in Australia for 9 months and indulged in many beaches. I’d like to share the beaches that impressed me and I hope to go back again. To be honest, I feel like there isn’t much difference between the beaches, but each one has something unique to attract individuals, like the view, the quality of the water, how much white and sandy the beach is or something like that. So I hope this post will be food for thought to decide which beaches to visit. Mind you, I narrowed down the list based only on my bias and preference.
Cottesloe Beach
The Beach is cheerful, with good vibes that feel full of life. I saw a bunch of people tanning, lying down their seats in summer. There’re stairs where you can sit and take a break, surrounded by many people enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. They say the beach is one of the most popular beaches in WA.
Swanbourne Beach
Swanbourne Beach is one of the cleanest beaches I’ve ever been when it comes to the quality of water. It is incredible nice and clear. I clearly remember how much I hoped to go back to the beach as soon as I finished swimming, especially when I thought about leaving Australia soon. In comparison to Cottesloe Beach, Swanbourne Beach is a lot quieter. It is located about 1 km north of Cottesloe one. There is a nudist beach further north from there.
Scarborough Beach
I absolutely love this grassy space where you can see the entire beach. Scarborough Beach features a variety of entertainment that offers great fun experiences. There is a pool, a playground for skaters, bars, restaurants and hotels along the beach roads. You can just go to Scarborough Beach and follow your heart without any specific plans.
City Beach
City Beach is one of my favourite spots to watch the sunset. It is truly peaceful and heartwarming to share the moment with “them”. It features a wide stretch of white sand, having a few volleyball courts. It is lovely to play volleyball with your friends until the sun goes down.
South Beach
South Beach is a bit small but filled with a lovely atmosphere created by families, their dogs and friendly locals. It always offers a lovely scene where people unleash their dogs to swim and run. They are really vigorous at the beach. As a sunset spot, it is so beautiful to watch the surface of the water sparkles, gently waving and creating a mix of colours. It is definitely worth visiting for the sunset.
Rockingham Beach
What can I tell you about beautiful Rockingham Beach. The depth of the sea bottom differentiates the colours, creating a distinct contrast from the transparency to deep blue, as you can see in the picture. The beauty will go above your expectations. Sadly, it is a bit far from Perth. It takes about one hour and a half by both train and bus. It’s worth visiting, hands down.
There are so many beaches to visit so it is the best to choose one that matches your current mood. My best beach is South Beach due to I used to live 3 minutes away from it. I am always hoping to revisit South Beach and swim, and watch the sunset again. I hope you find your favourite!
