Kenrokuen in Kanazawa, Ishikawa, is one of the three greatest gardens of Japan, where it is designated as “a special scenic spot“. It is located next to The Kanazawa Castle, nearby the 21 century art museum. There is a bus curling the route to stop by Kenrokuen.
Kenrokuen shows a variety of expressions over the course of the year. The trees and flowers reflect the changes of the four seasons. The cherry blossoms in spring, fresh greenery in summer, coloured leaves in autumn, the combination of snow and the trees in winter
If you get tired due to walking around the whole garden, visit Utihashi-tei where you can take some rests with a nice view of Kasumiga-ike.
Everything in the garden is very organised and controlled in its appearance . The gardens will be illuminated beautifully at times for special events. So, don’t miss it. It will become even more stunning .
Once you enter, you notice that the views from every single angle look photogenic. So if you are a good photographer, you should come here with a plenty of time to capture.
My favourite season for Kenrokuen is 100% winter!
